The story of Zoef.app

"We aspire to a world where every train journey, regardless of the operator or country, excels in impeccable punctuality, sufficient seating, and an unparalleled level of cleanliness and comfort. Our goal is to transform the travel experience and set a new standard for train travel, making traveling by train the norm." - Zoef.app

Passengers are missing out

Trains represent an extraordinary means of transportation: fast, comfortable, quiet, and often electrically powered. The extensive railway network offers unprecedented possibilities.

Nevertheless, there has been sharp criticism of train services for some time. They are often polluted, vandalized, expensive, and suffer from overcrowding. Moreover, they frequently fall short in terms of punctuality. Many passengers are also unaware of their rights. Consequently, they sometimes unjustly avoid trains, missing out on hundreds of euros per year.

It is our mission to support passengers when train journeys do not go as planned.

Profit maximization

Zoef.app is a for-profit company, but profit maximization is not our goal. We aim to improve train travel, making it better, cheaper, and more accessible. To achieve this, we need to generate revenue for investing in better tools and support. Currently, our organization is structured as a limited company under a holding. We are exploring the possibility of transitioning to a steward-owned model, similar to Bosch and Zeiss. For more information on steward-ownership, see this introduction by Corporate Rebels.
